This dining room was an example of good intentions gone wrong. A series of previous owners had tried to keep the home historically accurate, however their well-intentioned choices did just the opposite. Our mission was to restore the excellent bones of the home while bringing a whimsical, colorful, design to life. The dining room features custom walls, a sky blue ceiling, and a peacock colored band at the crown molding. Barbara designed the custom built topiary radiator cover and china hutch. Turquoise painted antique chairs mix effortlessly with modern art and foo dogs in a room that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The fireplace mantle was in very poor shape. It was reconditioned, given a coat of bright white paint and some architectural detail.
